Jefferson Local Development Corporation

Jefferson Local Development Corporation (JLDC) is Jefferson County Montana’s lead community and economic development organization.  JLDC provides information, finance solutions and educational programs for business and community members.  JLDC works toward business creation, expansion, retention and relocation by leveraging business and government resources. 

Jefferson County is located in scenic southwest Montana and includes the communities of Whitehall, Boulder, Montana City, Clancy, Jefferson City, Basin, Cardwell and Elk Park.

JLDC is a private, non-profit, member-supported economic development organization.  Human resources for the JLDC are provided through a unique partnership with MSU Extension and Jefferson County.

Financial Peace University

Take the class that is sweeping the nation!

Description: Whitehall Chamber Logo

Financial Peace University is a personal money-management class that is held in community groups, workplaces, churches and military bases across the country.  The class is taught bypersonal money management expert Dave Ramsey on DVD, followed by a small group discussion facilitated by MSU Extension and community volunteers. Participants have been pleasantly surprised at how entertaining the DVDs are. 

Boulder Area Class 
The class planned for Boulder will meet on Tuesdays, beginning
January 17th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Boulder Elementary school. 
A limited number of scholarships for the Boulder class are available
for Boulder residents, sponsored by the Boulder Area Chamber of
Commerce. A free, no obligation preview class will be held in
Boulder on January 10th from 6 to 8 p.m.   At this class, you will
learn more about the course and have an opportunity to ask
questions. Childcare will be available this night as well. The Boulder
class is co-sponsored by the Boulder Area Chamber of Commerce. 

Whitehall Area Class
In Whitehall, the class will be held on Mondays beginning January 16th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jefferson Valley Baptist church (next to IGA). A free, no obligation preview class will be held in Whitehall on January 9th from 6 to 8 p.m.  At this class, you will learn more about the course and have an opportunity to ask questions. Childcare will be available this night as well.  The Whitehall class is co-sponsored by the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce and the Jefferson Valley Baptist Church.  

Cost
There is no cost to attend the class; however, participants must have a set of the class materials.  Materials are $100 and include the class workbook, the CD library, budgeting forms and several other resources. In order to receive materials in time for the first class, payment is required by January 10th. Only one set of materials is needed per family.  Babysitting will be offered in each location by donation. Space is limited.
