Announcements
JLDC Members and Friends,
Each year JLDC selects businesses to honor as Jefferson County Business of the Year and Innovative Business of the Year. It is time to seek nominations for these two awards. Please take a minute to read the descriptions of the awards below and send us names of Jefferson County, Montana businesses that meet these descriptions. Nominations will be reviewed by the Annual Meeting Committee of the Jefferson Local Development Corporation Board. Winners will be honored at the annual dinner with a plaque.
Jefferson County Small Business of the Year
The Jefferson County Small Business of the Year is awarded to a Jefferson County business that has demonstrated a commitment to business excellence. Winners of this award are recognized as a progressive business that has staying power, growth in the number of employees or is involved in their local community. Last year, this award was presented to L & P Grocery of Boulder. During a down economy, L & P constructed a much larger new store in downtown Boulder which significantly expanded grocery selection for local residents. In addition, L & P brought a pharmacy back to Boulder by creating space for the Elkhorn Pharmacy in their new store.
Jefferson County Innovative Small Business of the Year
The Jefferson County Innovative Small Business of the Year is awarded to a
Jefferson County business that is creating innovative or value-added products
or services or uses an innovative business model. Businesses considered for
this award may be involved with value-added agriculture, manufacturing or
technology products or may have innovative programs or services including
internal programs within the company. Last year, this award was presented to
Tizer Botanic Gardens & Arboretum of Jefferson City for their innovative partnership
with the Montana Shakespeare Company and the bustling series of special events
they have created that helped make Tizer Gardens one of the top tourist destinations
in the state.
Please take a minute to send us an email with names of Jefferson
County, Montana
