The JLDC is a 501(c)(6) non-profit public-private partnership. We act as the lead entity for economic development across Jefferson County, helping businesses start, grow, and relocate within our communities.

The JLDC was legally incorporated in 1998.

Our mission is to promote the general welfare of Jefferson County by assisting business enterprises, enhancing the local tax base, creating quality employment opportunities, and combating community deterioration through strategic redevelopment projects.

We offer a comprehensive suite of services, including business financing, technical assistance, incentive coordination, site selection, and community development.

We focus on sectors that leverage our natural resources and strategic location: Mining & Minerals Processing, Light Manufacturing & Fabrication, Agriculture, Outdoor Recreation & Tourism.

We partner closely with numerous local and state organizations, such as the Jefferson County Government, Headwaters RC&D, and the Montana Department of Commerce. These partnerships allow us to leverage state-level grants and regional workforce expertise for your benefit.
